Botswana's Makgadikgadi Pans
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
Situated between Maun and Nata, the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park is one of Botswana’s lesser known treasures. Declared a reserve in 1970, Makgadikgadi was later extended in 1992 to encompass 4900sqkm of charming African landscape.
To witness the full spectrum of Makgadikgadi’s magnificent it is best to visit the park in both the dry and wet season, where you may witness a spectacular transformation from the pans at their most desolate state to the water wonderland the park becomes during the heavy rains of the wet season.
