Egypt's Sinai
Sinai
Unlike the magnificent feats of engineering and architecture that draw visitors to Egypt’s neighboring cities, the highlights of Sinai remain those of natural allure. Graced with magnificent sunshine, delightful beaches, superb diving and breathtaking scenery, the Sinai Peninsula is wonderfully lush despite its location on a wedge of desert between the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba.
Note that Sinai is not without its fair display of remarkable engineering. After all, the Suez Canal, found on the west side of the peninsula, was one of man’s most famed accomplishments during the 19th century. However, the true delights of Sinai remain on the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba, where sandy beaches, blazing sunshine and delicate coral reefs call to sun worshipers and divers from around the globe. Just kilometers inland find the scorching desert and magnificent canyons that have inspired centuries of stories and religious reverence.
