Kenya's Northern Kenya
Lake Turkana
There is no more spectacular sight than the vast Lake Turkana as its shimmering silver fluctuates to luminous blue with the soaring clouds passing above. However, with the changing winds, and the stirring of the algae sleeping deep below, it becomes quite apparent from where the nickname, Jade Sea, founds.
While the series of islands spotting the lake offer quite an experience, Lake Turkana’s finest highlight remains its treasure trove of paleontological fossils as found unearthed on the lake’s shores. The most noted of such discoveries? Koobi Fora, a sight not to be missed.
