Narok
The main trading post for the Maasai, Narok offers a wealth of authentic gems for the intrepid traveler. Browse the cluster of shops surrounding the service stations of the village, where necklaces, spears, knives, shields and weavings are but a handful of the treasures to be found.
Detour from the village to find the northern rim of the picturesque volcano, Mt. Suswa, or continue to Ewaso Ngiro, where the Loita Plains offer a pleasant prelude to the wildlife to be seen at the Maasai Mara National Reserve as well as splendid array of vultures, martial eagles, bateleurs and other birds of prey.
