The largest village on the island, Centre de Flacq offers guests a plethora of Mauritian memories. Aside from its charming ambiance and some of the finest beaches and lagoons on the island, Centre de Flacq is a shopper’s paradise.
Visit its market where a vibrant bazaar of treasures holds crafts and jewelry, vegetables and tea, and a rich array of useless, and therefore necessary, trinkets can catch the most observant of eyes. Just outside the village, explore the Fuel Sugar Estate, the largest sugar factory on the island as well as a large producer of energy from bagasse, or the by-product of sugarcane.
