Damaraland
This richly scenic stretch between the Erongo and the Etosha Pan embodies the history of Namibia as a whole. With a plethora of prehistoric treasures, including the ancient rock engravings found within its Spitzkoppe Mountains, Damaraland is widely believed to be the land of the earliest modern humans. Furthermore, with the indigenous Damara people, one of the oldest ethnic groups in Namibia, composing almost ten percent of the population, Damaraland’s wealth of historic culture abounds.
But legendary history and vibrant culture only head the long list of wonders found within this Northwestern region.
