Twyfelfontein

Nestled at the head of a hilly valley, find another of Namibia’s finest highlights. Proclaimed a National Monument in 1952, Twyfelfontein is one of the most spectacular galleries of ancient rock engravings, in the world. Agreed to be 6000 years in age these paintings offer an insightful glimpse into the lives of those gone before.

Just a short distance from the ancient engravings of Twyfelfontein, rests another legendary Namibian treasure; The Petrified Forest. The massive tree trunks that decorate the open veld of the forest are an estimated 260 million years in age and considered to be of the ancient Gymnospermae group. Nearby, explore the basalt columns of the Organ Pipes, the volcanic Burnt Mountain, or the Wondergat Sinkhole.
