Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Formally known as the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Bwindi National Park is a stunning expanse of dense rainforest carpeting the steep ridges of the Western Rift Valley in southwest Uganda. An ancient forest, Bwindi managed to survive the Ice Age and continues to thrive as one of the most biologically diverse regions on earth.
Recently proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Bwindi’s rich constitution of unique flora supports nearly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population.
