This relatively small capital of Uganda dates back only to 1962, making it one of the youngest on the continent. While its physical highlights are less than numerous, the Ugandan capital of Kampala is a regular passageway to some of the country’s finest highlights. Its accessibility, combined the captivating allure of its exceedingly friendly inhabitants, gives Kampala a unique charm all its own.
Kampala’s city center is centrally located on Nakasero Hill, boasting the majority of Kampala’s parks and some of its finest views. The bottom half, comprises a world apart, with a vibrant African flair resonating throughout. Upon its streets, find colorful shops, roadside traders, local restaurants and lively markets. One of the finest of these markets remains the Nakasero Fresh Food Market, where piles of bananas, pineapples, tomatoes, mangoes and pretty much every other fruit and vegetable imaginable collide in one brilliant shopping array. Just outside the capital find Entebbe, complete with an entirely different approach to Africa’s finest delights.
